Book says drain the fuel and remove the fuel petcock, seat off, speedo cable disconnected at transmission, lift the tank up and disconnect the wire plug. If you don't mind some scratched paint on the left frame under the tank, skip step one then when removing the tank, twist the rear part up and out to help the petcock move over the frame rail. Be sure to look at the speedo cable routing before you pull the tank to get it back in the correct place. Max
